MBC
is certified to conduct California State Department of Health Services
Title 22 bioassays and NPDES toxicity tests, and has been involved in both
laboratory and field toxicity testing work since 1978. MBC facilities
include an environmentally controlled laboratory with sub-systems for
maintaining appropriate experimental environments. MBC routinely performs
various acute and chronic aquatic toxicity tests and has conducted over
3,000 studies including 96-hour acute and chronic aquatic toxicity, 20-day
bioaccumulation, and 120-day chronic exposure tests. Materials evaluated
have included potentially hazardous wastes, cooling water effluents,
complex sanitation effluents, production waters, underground tank wastes,
dredge spoils, drill muds and cuttings, heavy metals, and various
petroleum products. The following timeline marks noteworthy studies
conducted by MBC.
